The Cup Series caps off a doubleheader weekend at Kansas Speedway with the Advent Health 400.

Minus Mike Joy for practice and qualifying, Jamie McMurray joins Kevin Harvick and Clint Bowyer in the broadcast booth.

Two Cup Series drivers had pre-race inspection issues with Todd Gilliland’s number 34 car and Tyler Reddick’s number 45 car failed inspection twice and have had their car chiefs ejected for the weekend and will lose their right to choose a pit stall for the race.

The drivers get a 25 minute practice session before making single car qualifying in a one lap run.

Thirty-eight teams brought cars to the race including Truck Series driver Corey Heim and Xfinity regular Jesse Love.

The drivers have been divided into two groups for practice.

Some of the drivers have had flat tire issues and they only get one set of tires for practice.  NASCAR has announced they will not approve a replacement for the flat tires.

The fourth driver with a tire issue, Chase Briscoe brings out the red flag when he is stopped on the track.

Goodyear recommends a minimum tire pressure for each tire; the recommended pressure for the left rear tire is 22psi.  The four drivers who have had tire issues had their tire pressures much lower than the recommended pressure.

Before leaving practice early with a flat tire, Ty Gibbs ran the fastest lap on the track in group 1.

Zane Smith is brings out the red flag with a flat tire and gets into the wall.

Fifth overall, William Byron tops the leaderboard in Group 2.  Kyle Larson leads the multiple laps list.

The first driver on the track to make a qualifying run is Corey Heim who posted a time of 29.899 seconds around the mile and a half track.
