The Xfinity Series has the next couple of weeks off but the Craftsman Truck Series kicks off a doubleheader weekend at Kansas Speedway with the Heart of Health Care 200.
Just 31 teams brought trucks to Kansas including William Byron and Carson Hocevar getting behind the wheel.
Truck numbers 88, 98, 99, and 26 all failed the pre-race inspection process twice. As a result, the truck chiefs for each team has been ejected for the weekend. In addition the teams will loose their pit stall selection next week at North Wilkesboro. Both the Craftsman Truck and Xfinity Series have their pit stall selections based on the previous race’s qualifying results.

The drivers get a 25 minute practice session before making a qualifying run. The drivers have been divided into two groups for practice.
Kaden Honeycutt topped the leaderboard in Group1.
William Byron is driving the 07 truck this week after Connor Zilisch pulled out due to an injury.
After winning the race at Texas last week for his third win of the season, Corey Heim becomes the youngest driver to have 14 career wins in the Truck Series. So far this year, Heim has three race wins, five stage wins, and has led over 400 laps.
NASCAR displays the red flag during Group 2 practice for debris on the track. NASCAR has added two and a half minutes to practice due to the red flag.
The 19 truck driven by Daniel Hemric has been charged with speeding on pit road.
Seventh overall in practice, Corey Heim tops the leaderboard in Group 2.
Brandon Jones is the first driver on the track to make a qualifying run and posted a time of 31,301 seconds around the mile and a half track.
After topping the leaderboard in practice, Kaden Honeycutt puts his truck at the top of the board with a time of 31.007 seconds.
With a time of 30,742 seconds, Jake Garcia put his number 13 truck on the pole. Coey Heim will start alongside on the front row.

Stages one and two of the race are just 30 laps each with stage three lasting 74 laps for a total of 134 laps around the mile and a half track. The drivers can run 50 to 55 laps on a single load of fuel.
Fresh off the track from practice and qualifying, Brad Keselowski joins Jamie Little and Michael Waltrip in the FOX broadcast booth for the race.
William Byron will have to start the race from the back of the field after the crew made unapproved adjustments to the truck.

The 66 truck of Luke Baldwin is charged with driving through too many pit boxes and will have to serve a passthrough penalty.
While serving his pass through penalty, Luke Baldwin was caught speeding and will have to serve a second pass through penalty.

Lap 22, after serving his pass through penalties, Luke Baldwin is six laps down.
The second caution flag of the race comes out on lap 23 when Luke Baldwin gets into the wall and has a flag tire.
NASCAR has called for a “quickie yellow” – all trucks may pit at the same time…even lapped trucks.
The drivers only have four sets of tires for the whole race.

Frankie Muniz was charged with an uncontrolled tire on pit road and Cody Dennison was charged with crew members coming over the wall too soon.

The caution flag comes out on lap 109 when Bayley Currey and Connor Mosack spin out. Currey taps the wall. Mosack was hit from behind and went spinning.

Carson Hocevar brings the field down for the green flag restart with William Byron alongside on lap 114. Hocevar edges out for the lead but William Byron moves up to challenge for the lead.
With just 19 laps to go, the top five are Carson Hocevar, William Byron, Gio Ruggiero, Dawson Sutton, and Layne Riggs. Corey Hiem is up to 14th.
With 17 laps to go, Corey Heim is just outside the top 10 in eleventh with Carson Hocevar leading the race and William Byron a quarter of a second behind.
Lap 119, Corey Heim is now in the top 10.
