“Redwood” may have announced an early closing date, but the popular play “Oh, Mary!” has just announced a major extension that will run into the fall. Set for a September 28 closing date; this is the fourth extension for the play about First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln in the days before the President’s assassination.
Currently, the show’s creator Cole Escola is playing the role of Mary in a return of the original cast of Escola, James Scully, and Conrad Ricamora. On June 23 Tituss Burgess returns to play Mary in an encore six week engagement.
“Oh, Mary!” has earned five Tony Award nominations including Best Play and Leading Actor in a Play.
Since opening in July of 2024, “Oh, Mary!” has earned an Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Play.
