Do you vote in political elections?

When I was very young and was finally allowed to vote at 18, it was a bit of a big deal then.

But as I have gotten older, I have discovered that politicians are big on talk and little on doing…unless it suits their own purpose.

It was at that moment I decided that I would not support anyone who was just in it for themselves. Politicians are big on touting what they think people want to hear to get the votes and then do whatever they want…nothing they supposedly promised…once they get into office.

If there was any doubt, all Americans have to do is look at the current lineup in Washington, D.C.

I will not and cannot support someone who is so filled with lies and deceit; and these days it seems that is all they do in Washington.

I have known and supported a very few people in politics.

Several years ago, there was an issue in my neighbourhood that had the plan been implemented it would have been disastrous. I sent letters to every representative from the city level to the federal level. The ONLY person to respond to me was Louise Slaughtter! So much for all those local representatives who claimed to care so much about the citizens and the area.

In the end, the planned action did not happen…essentially, I won but no thanks to the local politicians!

IF and when politicians actually DO the job they are elected to do – REPRESENT THE PEOPLE not themselves, then I will once again consider casting my vote!
