After the Xfinity Series race on Saturday at Rockingham Speedway in the North Carolina Education Lottery 250, NASCAR officials disqualified race winner Jesse Love after the post race inspection revealed an issue with the rear suspension.
As a result, Love was relegated to a 37th place finish, just in front of Justin Bonsignore who was also disqualified for multiple lug nut being improperly secured.
JR Motorsports driver Sammy Smith was named the race winner…and the winner of the final Dash-4-Cash prize.
Owner of the number two car driven by Love, Richard Childress has appealed the disqualification ruling.
Officials noted that the number two car violated NASCAR Rule book section 14.14.2.I-5.H – truck trailing arm spacers/pinion angle shims saying, “all mating surfaces between the truck trailing arm and the U-bolt saddle must be in complete contact with each other.”
Competition officials have acknowledged receipt of the appeal but no hearing date has been announced as of this time.
