Known as Smoke, Tony Stewart adds another title to his growing list.
Last Sunday at the NHRA 4-Crown Nationals at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Stewart earned his first win as a top fuel driver! He beat out Justin Ashley, Antron Brown and Jasmine Salinas for the “Wally”.
Speaking on the win, the 53 year old new father said, “you sure as hell appreciate it more when you struggle like we did. All the credit goes to this team. I’m so proud of my guys. There’s so many great partners here and I have a great team standing there. I have a feeling I’m really going to be hurting in the morning, but it sure as hell is going to be worth it.”
Smoke is a three time Cup Series champion, an IndyCar champion, and a USAC Triple Crown champion. He also took home the NHRA Rookie of the Year Award last season and is an NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series North Central Division champion in the Top Alcohol division.
Stewart originally came to drive in the NHRA when he took over the driving duties for wife Leah as the couple prepared for the eventual birth of son Dominic.
