This May the All Star Race returns to North Wilkesboro where it will feature four days of festivities and racing that will culminate with the 41st annual All Star Race May 15-18.
The All Star Race has no points, just a $1 million dollar prize!
The festivities begin on Thursday May 15 with the zMAX CARS Tour Late Model cars for qualifying and a race.
Friday features the All Star Open and Race practice sessions and the Pit Crew Challenge where the pit crews get the chance to shine. The zMAX CARS Tour returns for more racing. The final race on FOX Sports, Kevin Harvick will be joined by NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr in the broadcast booth.
On Saturday, the Craftsman Truck Series take to the track for some practice, qualifying, and racing. The All Star Race Heat races follow with a concert from Jake Owen to cap off the evening.
And the weekend ends with the practice, qualifying, and races on Sunday with the annual All Star Race.
Speedway Motorsports President and CEO Marcus Smith noted, “there’s never been an All-Star Race Week like this, with more racing and entertainment than at any other time in the history of the event. From grassroot stocks and modifieds to NASCAR trucks, Cup cars and a concert, NASCAR All-Star Race Week is jam-packed with four days of fun to satisfy any race fan who joins us in the beautiful mountains surrounding North Wilkesboro Speedway.”
After many years of neglect, the five-eighths mile track of North Wilkesboro returned to the NASCAR circuit last year to host the annual All Star Race which was won by Joey Logano. The format for the All Star racing events will be announced at a later date.
Ticket packages begin at $130 and can be purchased at northwilkesborospeedway.com.
zMAX CARS Tour Co-Owner Dale Earnhardt Jr spoke on the events saying “this is going to be an exciting and entertaining weekend of racing at North Wilkesboro. With the Pro Late Models running Thursday night on Flo (Racing) and Late Model Stocks Friday night on FS1 and Flo, it’s going to be a great time. I’m very proud about how much the series has grown and this is an incredible opportunity for our drivers and teams to showcase themselves. Kevin (Harvick) and I are going to have a lot of fun calling that race from the booth on Friday.”
