On March 26, Country music artist Vince Gil announced the 2025 inductees to the Country Music Hall of Fame.

A music producer, the wife of an icon and pioneer, and a four time Country Music Association Award winner.

Country music legend Johnny Cash once noted that his wife June Carter Cash was one of the most neglected artists in Country music.  Well, no more; she now joins husband Johnny as a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Vince Gil spoke on June saying, “Cash worried that his wife’s contributions would under-recognized simply because she’s my wife.  “That changes as she takes her rightful place among family, friends and legends in the Country Music Hall of Fame.”

A part of the Carter Family music act since she was 10 years old, June Carter married Johnny Cash in 1968.  June wrote over 100 songs including co-writing their hit “Ring of Fire”.  June Carter and Johnny Cash’s recorded numerous Grammy Award winning hits including “Jackson” and “If I Were a Hammer”.

Tennessee native Kenny Chesney noted that if someone had told him that he would be inducted into the Hall of Fame with June Carter Cash, he would have said “unbelievable!”

His accomplishments include 16 platinum albums, over 50 top ten hits, and four CMA Awards.

Chesney said, ”I had a really big dream and I’m still pushing that dream as far as I can.  I just wanted to record and write songs that reflected the lives of a lot of people that came to our shows.”

As a Nashville producer, Tony Brown is inducted under the non-performance category; but he is responsible for hit songs by numerous artists including Vince Gil, Reba McEntire, and George Strait.

Brown called being inducted into the Hall of Fame one of the biggest accomplishments in his career.

Before entering the recording booth, Tony Brown worked with Elvis Presley, Emmylou Harris, and Rodney Crowell as a backup or band member.

Brown said, “you make records and you make some money, but this is better than money.  This is about making an impact.”

The newest inductees will be enshrined later this year with an official ceremony.
