That spectacle that is Daytona International Speedway and the festival that starts the beginning of the NASCAR season has passed and now the teams get down to business when they travel to Atlanta Motor Speedway for a triple header weekend.
The Craftsman Truck Series gets the weekend started with the Fr8 208.
Just 33 drivers are entered in the race including a return of Rowdy himself when Kyle Busch drives the seven truck for Spire Motorsports and Michael McDowell.
Kaden Honeycutt was the first driver on the track for qualifying and posted a time of 32.626 seconds around the mile and a half track.
Due to mechanical issues Justin Carroll will not make a qualifying run but will be in the race later tonight.
Eleven of the drivers in the field have never been on the track at Atlanta.
Bayley Currey has no power and will not make a qualifying run, but he will make the race.
The Tricon Garage crew have several crew members and drivers are feeling a bit “under the weather” but will be in the race. Drivers are known for not getting out of their vehicles even when they are sick or hurt.

The field has gotten single file.
After a number of issues, Chandler Smith started the race from the back of the field. On lap eight, he has moved up nine spots since the race start.

Lap 12, Ben Rhodes tries to move out of the pack to move up and ends up falling through the field to 16th.

Lap 74, the caution flag comes out for a big crash. Rajah Caruth cut a tire and went spinning. William Sawalich, Andres Perez, Daniel Hemric, and Tyler Ankrum were also involved.
NASCAR has red flagged the race to get the track cleaned up.
After an eleven minute delay, NASCAR pulls the red flag and displays the yellow flag. The drivers get moving once again.
With 55 laps remaining in the race, it is questionable as to whether the drivers can make it to the end of the race.
Drivers come down pit road to top off the fuel cells. Kyle Busch wins the race off of pit road.
Officials have issued a number of penalties including Stewart Friesen pitting outside the box, pitting too soon, and pitting while pit road was closed. All drivers will restart the race from the back of the field.
