On a chilly Atlanta afternoon, the Xfinity Series takes to the track for qualifying. There is no practice for any of the drivers this weekend. Their first time on the track is to make a qualifying run.
Thirty-eight teams brought cars to Atlanta for 38 starting spots for the Bennet Transportation and Logistics 250.
The first driver on the track is CJ McLaughlin who posted a time of 32.325 seconds around the mile and a half track.
Last year the pole sitter posted a time of 31.87 seconds.
Austin Hill is the first driver to break the 32 second mark with a time of 31.884 seconds.

Last year pole sitter Jesse Love dominated the race before running out of fuel; this year he is looking for some redemption.
Stages one and two are 45 laps each with stage three lasting 73 laps for a total of 163 laps around the 1.5 mile track.
Jesse Love brings the field down for the green flag start of the race with teammate Austin Hill alongside. Jesse Love jumps out for the lead from the inside lane. Drivers are already getting three wide. Lap two, Jesse Love leads the race with Austin Hill in second; Taylor Gray, Sam Mayer, and Carson Kvapil round out the top five.
The first caution flag of the race comes out on lap five when Dean Thompson gets stopped on the track. Ryan Sieg goes for a spin.
Dean Thompson is being charged with intentionally bringing out the caution flag. He is being brought down pit road and held one lap.
Jesse Love brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 12 with Austin Hill alongside. Getting a push, Austin Hill takes the lead.
Kyle Sieg takes his number 28 car to the garage with a mechanical issue.
Lap 15, Austin Hill leads the race with Jesse Love in second; Sam Mayer, Taylor Gray, and Carson Kvapil round out the top five.
Lap 18 Kyle Sieg returns to the track, seven laps down.
Dean Thompson’s day is going from bad to worse. He had too many crew members over the wall for a pit stop and will have to serve a pass through penalty.
Lap 32, Austin Hill continues to lead the race with teammate Jesse Love in second; Sam Mayer, Taylor Gray, and Carson Kvapil round out the top five. The same top five that finished the race at Daytona last week.
Nick Sanchez has an issue with his hood being loose and flapping.

Low on the horizon, the sun is causing some glare issues for the drivers.

RCR driver Jesse Love dominated the race last year but it was teammate Austin Hill who won the race to sweep Atlanta last season. He continues his dominating moves with this race.
Lap 63, Connor Zilisch and Taylor Gray battle for fourth; the battle sends Gray back to 16th place.
Lap 69, Austin Hill continues to dominate the race with Jesse Love in second; Sammy smith, Connor Zilisch, and Christian Eckes round out the top five.
Lap 73, Jesse Love drops to the inside and passes Austin Hill for the lead.
Lap 75, Austin Hill pulls the same move of dropping to the inside to pass Jesse Love to retake the lead.

Smith, Connor Zilisch, and Christian Eckes round out the top five.

To go in stage two, drivers had begun to move down to the inside lane and gain momentum. Austin Hill dropped down to lead the inside lane. The top five are Austin Hill, Sam Mayer, Sheldon Creed, Justin Allgaier, and Jesse Love.
Nick Sanchez has a very loose car and nearly spun out but saved the car.

Pit road penalties have sent several drivers to the back of the field.
Austin Hill brings the field down for the green flag start of stage three with 65 laps remaining in the race with Justin Allgaier alongside. After going side by side for over a lap, Austin Hill gets out in front for the lead.

As the laps count down, the drivers are getting more aggressive with some four wide racing. Just like Daytona and Talladega, the line at the apron is a no go line. Any driver who goes below that line to advance their position will receive a penalty.
The caution flag comes out on lap 107 when CJ McLaughlin gets into the wall with a blown tire.
After getting into the wall with a flat tire, CJ McLaughlin is charged while pitting when pit road was closed.
Austin Hill brings the field down for the green flag restart with Nick Sanchez alongside. There are 50 laps remaining in the race. After Sam Mayer took the field three wide, Austin Hill takes the lead with Sammy Smith in second; Aric Almirola, Justin Allgaier, and Sam Mayer round out the top five.
The caution flag comes out with 46 laps to go for a crash involving Jeremy Clements, Taylor Gray, Blaine Perkins, and Connor Zilisch were all involved. Jeremy Clements spun out collecting the other drivers.
Jeremy Clements was charged with a commit cone violation and pitting while pit road was closed.
Austin Hill brings the field down for the green flag restart with 40 laps to go with Ryan Sieg alongside. Austin Hill holds on to the lead with Sammy Smith in second; Aric Almirola, Ryan Sieg, and Sam Mayer round out the top five.
Drivers are getting three wide with less than 40 laps to go.
The caution flag comes out for the sixth time when Brandon Jones gets into the wall with a flat tire. There are 37 laps remaining in the race.
Mason Maggio ended up in the grass avoiding Brandon Jones’ wreck.
There are 32 cars on the lead lap.
With 34 laps remaining in the race, Austin Hill has led 112 laps so far.
Austin Hill brings the field down once again for the green flag restart with 32 laps remaining in the race with Ryan Sieg on the inside. Hill quickly gets out in front and drops to the inside lane.
The top five are Austin Hill, Ryan Sieg, Justin Allgaier, Sam Mayer, and Sammy Smith.
Thirty to go, the drivers are two and three wide through the field.
With 28 to go, the leaders have gotten single file on the outside lane with Austin Hill out front and Justin Allgaier in second.
Just 25 laps remain; Austin Hill shows no sign of slowing down or giving up the lead; Justin Allgaier, Sammy Smith, Aric Almirola, and Sheldon Creed round out the top five.
The caution flag comes out for Sam Mayer who gets into the wall. Anthony Alfredo was also involved when Mayer hit him after Nick Sanchez got loose and into Sam Mayer. There are 21 laps to go. Brennan Poole and Connor Zilisch also sustained some damage from the wreck.
Austin Hill has become the leading driver for leading races on drafting tracks. He tops Dale Sr and Jr!

NASCAR reports that the 88 car of Connor Zilisch has not made the minimum speed.

The caution flag comes out with 10 to go for debris on the track. There is foam on Sammy Smith’s grille.

Allgaier edges out in front but Austin Hill comes up on the outside to go side by side. Austin Hill takes the lead after a push from Aric Almirola.
