The NAACP Image Awards honours “people of color who are standouts in acting, music and writing”.  The Image Awards also includes a Hall of Fame and this year the honour goes to several members of the same family – the Wayans family.

Keenen Ivory, Damon Sr., Marlon, Shawn, Kim, and Damon Wayans Jr have all made contributions to film, television, and comedy including “In Living Color”, “Major Payne”, “Scary Movie”, “White Chicks”, “Poppa’s House”, “Happy Endings”, “New Girl”, “Bel-Air”, and “Pariah”.

The Wayans family members will join current NAACP Awards Hall of Fame inductees Lena Horn, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Oprah Winfrey, and Spike Lee.

The 56th annual NAACP Image Awards will be held on February 22.
