Award season continued on February 16 with the BAFTA Awards – the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. Many Hollywood stars walked the red carpet and attended the 78th annual event.
There were no standout winners throughout the night; “Conclave” and “The Brutalist” each won four awards.
Honouring his roots, Scottish actor hosted the gala event wearing a kilt. He opened the show with sing-a-long of “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)”.
Winners are selected by the 8,000 members of the British Film Academy; that is all but one – the Rising Star Award – which is a fan vote. This year David Jonsson who stars in the British television drama “Industry”
Warwick Davis was the recipient of the BAFTA Fellowship Award which is presented for “a screen career to create a more inclusive film industry.”
