Speedweek at Daytona is getting off to a tumultuous start with big crashes, photo finishes, and disqualifications.
On Friday afternoon during qualifying, Tyler Ankrum had his time disallowed because he was late in coming to a complete stop at the end of pit road before making his qualifying lap.
Stewart Friesen was not allowed to even make a qualifying run when he was penalized for a track bar infraction.
And after a hard fought win in the Fresh from Florida 250 that had an eight truck pile up during the race and a crash on the last lap to bring out the caution, part time driver Parker Kligerman crossed the finish line first only to learn an hour later that his truck…and win…were disqualified for not meeting the minimum ride height; saying the rear of the truck was too low.
Second place driver Corey Heim has been named the winner of the race. Parker Kligerman is listed in last place.
Truck owner Henderson Motorsports has announced their intention to appeal the ruling.
