For the past five years Latin music star Pitbull has been a part of Trackhouse Racing with owner Justin Marks.  This weekend Pitbull announced that effective immediately he is severing his partnership with Marks.

Neither Marks or Pitbull gave an explanation for the decision.

Pitbull is scheduled to perform as a part of the pre-race ceremonies for the Daytona 500 on February 16.

Originally scheduled for a 2:30pm start, NASCAR has moved the starting time up one hour due to the possibility of foul weather later in the afternoon.

This year is something special for Trackhouse Racing with four drivers from across the world – American watermelon farmer Ross Chastain, New Zealander Shane van Gisbergen, Mexican born now American citizen Daniel Suarez, and Brazilian champion driver Helio Castroneves.

When joining Justin Marks at Trackhouse Pitbull – born Armando Christian Perez – said he loved NASCAR and music; adding that he wanted to use both to unite people and show them that there are possibilities for all cultures.

Pitbull noted, “over the past five years, we’ve made history by introducing NASCAR to a whole new audience and falling in love with NASCAR fans at the same time.  We have made the decision to terminate the partnership with Trackhouse Racing, effective immediately. We’re looking forward to performing on the sport’s biggest stage this Sunday, the Daytona 500.”

Trackhouse owner Justin Marks added, “this is a great business story. Armando came in when we had no certainty of any material success and took a chance to help build a brand.  Now that we’ve scaled up and have new partners, he’s been able to be rewarded for the impact he’s made. A great investment on both ends.”
