Newly named Songwriters Hall of Famers The Doobie Brothers have been making music for some 50 years and June 6 Michael McDonald rejoins the band for “Walk This Road”, their newest album. McDonald will also be a part of the upcoming tour whose dates have yet to be announced.
The 10 song album was recorded last winter and features the signature Doobie sound with Mavis Staples joining the band on the title song where they all sing.
Michael McDonald spoke on returning to the band saying, “getting back in with the guys and playing again is great. In my heart I’ve always been a Doobie Brother. We’ve all remained friends over the years. We’ve all been enjoying it tremendously, even more than we thought we would.”
