Richard Petty is known as “The King” in NASCAR with 200 wins in what is known today as the Cup Series. In Petty’s day there were no Xfinity or Craftsman Truck Series and drivers ran more than one race a week.
But, there is one driver in NASCAR who has a total of 231 wins in NASCAR across the Craftsman Truck, Xfinity, and Cup Series races…
Kyle Busch snapped a 19 year record last season when he failed to win any races in the Cup Series. Up until last year, he had won at least one race every year since joining the Cup Series.
Busch holds the record for the most wins in both the Truck and Xfinity Series.
This year Busch starts his year of racing by making his debut at the annual Chili Bowl Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma as he prepares to start his third year driving the number eight car for Richard Childress Racing.
Busch began his winning streak in 2004 in the Xfinity Series at Richmond Raceway.
Busch would go on to win six more Xfinity Series races and two Craftsman Truck Series races before winning his first Cup Series race in 2005 at Auto Club Speedway.
Busch has won 66 Truck Series races, 102 Xfinity Series races, and 63 Cup Series races including races in all three series at Daytona International Speedway; but there is one race Busch has yet to win…the Daytona 500!
Over the past several months, Busch has seen his son Brexton win a number of races; can young Busch’s winning ways rub off on to his father this year, beginning with the race at Daytona???
