Over the weekend, the Tulsa Shootout at the Tulsa Expo Raceway concluded after several days of racing. Once the races were over officials randomly selected tires for testing which resulted in six drivers being disqualified from the race for “tire doping” – failure to meet the chemical benchmark.
Random tire samples were taken throughout the event and sent for testing. Five of the samples failed the test.
As a result, six drivers were disqualified from the events:
Outlaw driver Daniel Shaffer
Outlaw NW driver Jett Nunley
A-Class driver Shawn Whitney
Junior Sprint driver Bryton Buoy
Junior Sprint driver Sawyer McBride
Junior Sprint driver Caleb Johannesen
The Tulsa Shootout features numerous classes of micro racing on a quarter mile track over several days.
Disqualified drivers must forfeit any winnings.
