Since I don’t drive I have never really thought about kinds of cars.
But, I have a friend who has a Lightning McQueen car and every once in a while, he will give me a ride in it. The top is always down, and hair is flying; but boy is it a lot of fun! With the top down and the wind screaming, it is a little difficult to carry on a conversation, but that doesn’t matter.
I grew up hearing the sounds of the cars going around the track of Daytona International Speedway in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. Some of the cars in that race are pretty cool and I bet they would be a lot of fun to ride in too.
But when it comes to differentiating between different types of cars, I am hopeless. To me, there are cars, trucks, and vans. I know a VW bug – they are very distinct – and pick-up trucks. Vans are pretty much the same – some with windows and some without. And of course, a station wagon; but after that, I am not very good at figuring out which type is which.
And now that NASCAR has pretty much made all of the cars alike, it makes it even more difficult to tell a Ford from a Chevrolet, from a Toyota.
Maybe I need one of those books for little kids that tell the different types of cars. 🙂
