The numbers were down last week but they still brought in over $40 million; partly due to an audience rush to see shows with upcoming closing dates. “The Notebook”, and “Swept Away” will be closing on December; while “Water for Elephants” held its last performance on December 8.
“Wicked”, “The Lion King”, and “Hamilton” all topped the $2 million mark last week with “Sunset Boulevard” and “Elf” filling out the top five. “Swept Away” is already sold out for its final week.
Despite heavily comped tickets, “Death Becomes Her” still brought in nearly a million and a half dollars.
