Daytime drama actor Wayne Northrop died November 29, 2024 at the age of 77 in his Motion Picture and Television Fund’s retirement home in Woodland Hills, California home.

In a statement from his wife Lynn said, “Wayne was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s six years ago. He took his last breath in the arms of his family.  We wish to thank the most caring and amazing place, The Motion Picture and Television Home for taking such great care of him. Wayne touched so many people with his sense of humor and wit. A husband for 43 years, the best dad ever to his two boys, Hank and Grady, and a rancher who loved his cows and was a friend to many.”

While he appeared in over a dozen productions, Northrop was best known for his performances in “Days of Our Lives” where he appeared in over 1,000 episodes, “Port Charles”, and “Dynasty”.

Northrop made his television debut in 1977 on an episode of “Eight is Enough”.  His other roles include appearances in “Baretta”, “The Waltons”, the TV movies “Beggarman, Thief” and “Going for the Gold: The Bill Johnson Story”, “You are the Jury”, “Hotel”, “L.A. Law”, “The Young Riders”, “Never Say Never: The Diedra Hall Story”, “The Haunting of Lisa”, “L.A. Firefighters”, and “Cold Case”.

Wayne Alan Northrop was born April 12, 1947 in Summer, Washington.

He is survived by his wife Lynn, sons Hank and Grady, and stepmother Janet.
