“The Voice” fans will see a lot of changes next season; starting with the season 27 premiere and a major change in the coaches lineup, including the return of an original coach.
Season 26 is set to crown a winner on December 10 with season 27 set to begin on February 3 – around a month earlier than previous seasons.
Season 26 had Gwen Stefani, Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, and Michael Bublé sitting in the big red chairs; but for season 27 only Bublé is returning. He will be joined by John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini in her first full season, and original coach Adam Levine.
Adam Levine spoke on his returning to the show saying, “season 27, yes, I’m coming back; I’m so excited. I cannot wait. I’m well rested. I’m ready to go. I’m a little nervous — I’m not nervous — but I’m so excited. It’s going to be great, and I can’t wait. It’s going to be awesome, let’s go! Team Adam is back!”
Host Carson Daly spoke on the show saying, “people thought [The Voice] was never gonna work, and not only did it work, but it’s lasted for 25 seasons. So I think that’s really the crazy part is that it’s staying power that we’ve been able to keep an audience interested, and tweak the show and let the format evolve by adding steals and those little features that kind of make it exciting again. Every time it’s on, it feels fresh.”
“The Voice” remains on NBC with replays available the next day on Peacock.
