Last week, the play “McNeal” had only a few performances and still came close to reaching the Million Dollar Club. This week in its first full week of performances, the production starring Robert Downey Jr is a part of the Club; barely missing the top five.
With another extension, “Oh, Mary!” continues to break records at the Lyceum Theatre. The play will now run into next year.
Only 10 productions made it into the Million Dollar Club last week with “Cabaret” barely getting in after a week filled with comp tickets as the musical got two new stars – current lead singer for Queen Adam Lambert as the emcee and Auli’I Cravalho.
“The Lion King”, “Wicked”, and “Hamilton” continue to lead the way in the Million Dollar Club but none of them topped the $2 million mark.
The box office was down overall last week as the calendar turns over to autumn with just 10 of the 29 productions currently running making it into the Million Dollar Club last week.
