It’s the final week of competition at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris, France.  Despite a few controversies, complaints about the food offered the athletes, and questionable river safety; there have been some very exciting moments during the games that has seem the favourites win at times and fall short on others and athletes winning medals in their countries for the very first time.

In the medal count, the People’s Republic of China has retaken the lead in gold medal wins with 21; the United States is right behind them with 20.  The U.S. holds the total medal count lead by over 20 medals with 78.  And so far 73 nations have earned medals at the games with 12 of them reaching double digits in wins.
