This November in Miami, the Latin Recording Academy will celebrate 25 years of Latin Grammy Awards with a week of music, festivities, and awards culminating in the grand event of the Latin Grammys on November 14.

As a part of the celebration, the Latin Recording Academy has announced the recipients of the Lifetime Achievement and Trustee Awards.  Albita, Lolita Flores, Alejandro Lerner, Los Angeles Azules, Draco Ross, and Lulu Santos will all be presented with Lifetime Achievement Awards; while Angel ‘Cucco’ Pena and Chucho Rincon will receive the Latin Recording Academy Trustees Awards.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to a person who has “made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to Latin Music and its communities.”

The Trustees Award is presented to the person who has “made significant contributions to Latin Music during their careers in way other than performance.”

Latin Recording Academy CEO Manuel Abud spoke on the honourees via a statement saying, “it is with great pride that we honour these musical legends – who continue redefining our Latin Music and heritage – and we look forward to celebrating them as part of our Latin Grammy 25th anniversary festivities in November.”

The recipients will be honoured during a private ceremony on November 10.

New this year at the Latin Grammy Awards will be the Best Latin Electronic Music Performance Award and the Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album Award.

The 2024 Person of the Year is 18 time Latin Grammy Award and two time Grammy Award winner Carlos Vives.
