This year FX garnered a massive record of Emmy Award nominations with 48 from just TWO shows – and 93 overall -; the drama “Shogun” led the field with 25 and the comedy “The Bear” racked a record setting for 23.and in only its second season. Bit it is Netflix who leads the way with a whopping total of 107 nominations.
HBO came in a close second with a total of 91 nominations.
Last year Lily Gladstone became the first Indigenous female actor to earn an Emmy nomination. This year D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai follows as the first Indigenous male actor to earn a leading role Emmy nomination.
A total of 36 performers earned Emmy nominations this year.
The Prime Time Emmy Awards will be presented in a live television event of September 15 with the Creative Arts Emmys being presented on September 7 and 8.
