Getting lost in time isn’t all that difficult a task.
Simply find something you really like to do and before you know it, several hours could go by.
If I begin an art project or even sometimes crocheting, before I know it, a couple of hours have gone by. If I decide to do some painting or other art project, I must first make sure that I have at least three hours set aside with nothing else planned because once I get going, time melts away. Sometimes whatever I am doing is just a time consuming project; but with others, I just “lose track of time.”
The same can happen when I am reading. I read every night before I go to sleep and especially if I am having a bout of insomnia, an hour can go by.
Losing track of time doesn’t really mean that time is actually lost, it just means that we get absorbed in our work. We thoroughly enjoy whatever it is we are doing and time seems to just “fly by”.
On the other hand, if we must sit and wait or have to do a task that we really don’t like, time seems to crawl along and never end.
