NASCAR issued just one penalty on Wednesday in relation to the Street Race in Chicago last weekend.

During the race Alex Bowman and Bubba Wallace made contact spinning out Wallace. After the race, Wallace made contact with race winner Alex Bowman to show his displeasure.

As a result, NASCAR has fined Bubba Wallace $50,000 for violating the Member Code of Conduct Code in the NASCAR rule book.

Wallace drives the number 23XI Racing car which is owned by basketball star Michael Jordon and Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin – who has been known to violate the same rule without consequence.

In his post race interview, Bowman apologized to Wallace and the 23 team for the unintentional contact that sent Wallace spinning.
