It has been 30 years since I spent time in Russia. I’m sure a great deal has changed since I was there, but Russia is Russia and some things never change.
I would like to go back to see some of the places I visited but with a much better appreciation now…and I would like the chance to visit Peter’s grave…something I haven’t been able to do.
I have a bunch of photos but they are all from film; getting some good digital shots would be nice.
Moving on from Russia, I would like to make a return visit to Finland. I was only there over night and got to see very litte – a restaurant, hotel, and the airport. I want to see some of the countryside. The photographer in me would love to “take it all in”…and fill up an SD card or two with photos.
My ancestors are Nordic, I am told they are from Denmark. I would truly love to see my “homeland”; maybe see if there are any relatives there. And of course, take in the view.
A summertime trip with warm weather to rent a boat and “cruise” the seas around the Islands.
From what I have learned of my ancient family history, they did the “island hop” going from Denmark to Scotland, Ireland, England, and the United States. I have never discovered whether they ever made a visit to Iceland and Greenland. That would be some cool places to visit too. 🙂
I wonder whether I could do an “island hop” and trace some of my family’s history???
