In the final week before the annual Tony Awards, the box office number continues to rise with nearly half of the 35 productions currently running joining the Million Dollar Club and nearly two dozen of them had an audience capacity of at least 90 percent. With receipts of over $2 million, “The Lion King” and “Wicked” topped the list; “Hamilton”, “Cabaret”, and “Merrily We Roll along” round out the top five.
“An Enemy of the People” broke the box office record. Total box office receipts were just shy of $37 million.
