In a stand alone event, the Xfinity Series does some road course racing in the northwest in Portland for the Pacific Office Automation 147.
The drivers have been divided into two groups. They have 15 minutes of practice each before group qualifying where all of the group goes out on the track to make their best laps. The top five drivers from each group will make a second round to set the pole.
Frankie Muniz comes to a stop on the track trailing a big cloud of white smoke and leaking fluid.
NASCAR has extended practice by five minutes after the track cleanup.
There are 39 teams in Portland vying for 38 starting spots.

With a time of 1:13.72, Parker Kligerman has set a new track record. This is the third trip to Portland; the first year it was raining and sunny last year.

AJ Allmendinger gets off the track and hits the tire barrier, causing some damage to his car at the end of the lap. He also hits the bumps hard coming back on the track.
Chandler Smith said that he locked up the car and will have to make some adjustments; as a result, he will have to start the race from the back of the field.
AJ Allmendinger will not make a second round of qualifying; he will be moving to a backup car and start the race from the back of the field.
The nine crew is replacing the nose and splitter on Brandon Jones’ car.
The top 10 drivers have 10 minutes to determine who will sit on the pole.
NASCAR officials have told AJ Allmendinger that he must go to the infield car center for the mandatory post crash checkup.

After crashing during practice, Frankie Muniz failed to qualify for the race.
A total of 10 drivers will have to move to the back of the field after the crews made repairs and unapproved adjustments to the cars including AJ Allmendinger in a backup car, Chandler Smith, Jesse Love, Sage Karam, and Brandon Jones.
Even before the race begins, AJ Allmendinger is having some issues in his car with the radio. He is not allowed to get on the track without a proper radio.
Today’s race marks the halfway point in the regular season for the Xfinity Series drivers.
Each of the three stage is 25 laps each for a total of 75 laps around the near two mile track.
Sam Mayer brings the field down for the green flag start of the race and gets out in front but spins out on in turn one and gives the lead over to Riley Herbst.
Lap two, the top five are Riley Herbst, Justin Allgaier, Shane van Gisbergen, Cole Custer, and Sheldon Creed.
Lap four, Kyle Weatherman did some agricultural racing after getting out into the grass.

Lap six, Riley Herbst holds a near half second lead on Justin Allgaier; Shane van Gisbergen is one second back in third with Cole Custer and Sheldon Creed rounding out the top five.
Drivers who miss turns one and two must navigate a maze of turns in order to rejoin the race; Logan Bearden was penalized for not negotiating the maze after missing the turn.
Lap 10 Riley Herbst has increased his lead a bit to just over half a second on Justin Allgaier; Shane van Gisbergen, Cole Custer, and Sheldon Creed continue to round out the top five.
Lap eleven, Hailie Deegan is the only driver not on the lead lap.

Lap 13, the gap between leader Riley Herbst and third place driver Shane van Gisbergen is now under one second.
Last weekend Sage Karam ran in the Indianapolis 500, during the week his wife had a new baby, and today he is racing in the Xfinity Series in Portland.

Logan Bearden is having a bad day, he spins out and makes a run through the grass, he will have to come down pit road to clean the grille.
Lap 16, Shane van Gisbergen passes Riley Herbst for the lead.

Lap 19, Shane van Gisbergen has pulled out to a near second and a half lead on Justin Allgaier; Riley Herbst, Cole Custer, and Sheldon Creed round out the top five.
One of the drivers who had to start the race from the back of the field, Sage Karam has moved upt to 12th place.
Lap 21, after starting the race on the pole, Sam Mayer has dropped to 14th.

Lap 22, Cole Custer slides off the track and has to run the maze to get back out on the track. He drops to eighth place.

Lap 24, Shane van Gisbergen comes down pit road short pitting the end of the stage. Justin Allgaier is the new leader.
With a stand alone event, NASCAR has altered the rules for pit stops since the crews who normally pit the cars are at World Wide Technology Raceway. Pit stops must be a minimum of 63 seconds including pit in and pit out.

Lap 40, Justin Allgaier has a two and a half second lead on Sheldon Creed; Josh Bilicki Cole Custer, and Chandler Smith round out the top five.

Just five laps remain in stage two, Justin Allgaier continues to lead the race. Parker Kligerman and Ryan Sieg get off the track and have to run through the grass to get back on the track.
In stage one, Shane van Gisbergen chose to short pit; but for stage two he stays on the track to finish the stage.
Justin Allgaier’s lead is now under two seconds as he encounters with slower traffic.

The caution flag comes out with 13 laps remaining in the race when Hailie Deegan has a flat tire and leaves the tire carcass on the track.

The caution flag comes out with eight laps to go for a crash. Brandon Jones is buried in the tire barrier. Brennan Poole, Blaine Perkins, Ryan Ellis, Andre Castro, and Brandon Jones were all involved.
