On his final pit stop in the Craftsman Truck Series race on Friday night, Corey Hiem’s crew chief knew that there was a loose lug nut but let the truck go; also knowing that a fine was coming.
Quickly working his way through the field, Heim came up a little short and Nick Sanchez earned his second win of the season.
However, in post race inspection, officials discovered that Corey Heim’s truck had three lug nuts improperly secured and his second place finish has been disqualified. Corey Heim is now listed as being the driver in last place.
Up until the final stage, Heim had dominated the race, sweeping both stages, but some pit road mistakes brought him up a little short.
With three wins this season, Corey Heim still sits in second place in the standings behind Christian Eckes.
