This past weekend Brad Keselowski ended a 110 race drought when he won the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway. But when it comes to longest number of races between wins, Keselowski doesn’t even make the top 20!
Prior to the win at Darlington, Keselowski’s last win was at Talladega in 2021 to put him in 21st place.
Juan Pablo Montoya is in 20th place with 113 races between wins, both on road courses – Sonoma in 2007 and Watkins Glen in 2010.
Kevin Harvick and Morgan Shepherd tie for 18th will 115 races.
For Harvick it involved what was then restrictor plate races of the 2007 Daytona 500 and the April 2010 race at Talladega.
For Shepherd it was the 1981 race at Martinsville and the 1986 race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Number 17 belongs to Ryan New an who had 127 races between wins – the 2013 race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the March 2017 race at Phoenix.
At 16, Ward Burton’s race winning drought also included a Darlington win when he went 131 races between wins – the 1995 race at Rockingham and the March 2000 race at Darlington.
Morgan Shepherd appears on the list for a second time in 15th place with a 133 race streak that ran from the 1986 Atlanta race to 1990, again at Atlanta.
Terry Labonte has the number 14 spot with a 135 race winning drought from the July 1989 race at Talladega to the 1994 race at North Wilkesboro.
Number 13 belongs to Australian driver Dave Marcis who had 137 races between wins – the November Atlanta race in 1976 and the 1982 race in Richmond.
Dale Earnhart Jr has the number 12 spot with 143 races between wins and it happened at the same track – the 2008 to the 2012 at Michigan International Speedway.
Aric Almirola won the Coke Zero race at Daytona in 2014; he didn’t win again until the October race at Talladega in 2018 for a 149 race drought.
Terry Labonte returns to kick off the top 10 with a 156 race drought from the March race at Texas Motor Speedway to the 2003 race at Darlington.
AJ Allmendinger is in ninth with a 161 race drought from the 2014 race at Watkins Glen to the 2021 road course race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway
In eighth place, Jamie McMurray had a 165 race drought that began in 2002 at Charlotte Motor Speedway and didn’t end until the 2007 Coke Zero 400 at Daytona.
Sterling Marlin is in seventh place with a 170 race drought that ran from the 1996 400 miler at Daytona to the 2001 race at Michigan International Speedway.
Not to be outdone by his big brother, Jeff Burton had a race winning drought of 175 games that ran from the 2001 race in Phoenix to the 2006 race at Dover Motor Speedway.
Clint Bowyer kicks off the top five with a race winning drought of 190 races from the October 2012 race at Charlotte Motor Speedway to the March 2018 race at Martinsville Speedway.
With a 199 race winning drought, Ricky Stenhouse Jr has the number four spot that happened at the same track but different races – the 2017 Coke Zero 400 at Daytona to the 2023 Daytona 500.
In third place Martin Truex Jr had a 218 race drought that lasted six years – the 2007 race at Dover to the 2013 road course race at Sonoma.
Becoming a part of history as being a part of the closest race in NASCAR history, Chris Buescher comes in second place with a 222 race winning drought from the 2016 race at Pocono Raceway to the 2022 September race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
And the driver with the longest streak between race wins is Awesome Bill from Dawsonville – Bill Elliott – with 226 races from the 1994 race at Darlington to the final race of the 2001 season at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
