Just a week after opening, the revival musical “The Wiz” is not only “easing on down the road”; but is also easing on up the chart of the Million Dollar Club.  With many of the seats at the Marquis Theatre still being compted to members of the press, the musical is among the top five in gross ticket sales for their first full week of performances.  The “usual suspects “The Lion King”, “Hamilton”, “MJ The Musical”, and “Wicked” rounded out the top five for last week.

Again this week, “The Lion King” topped $2 million at the box office.

With April 26 as the cut-off line for being eligible for the 2024 Tony Awards, more shows will be opening in the next few days.
