Last weekend at Richmond there was plenty of drama on both sides that saw Joey Gase throwing car parts and Denny Hamlin jumping the gun.

But only one of them was punished for his actions…

On lap 173 of the Xfinity Series Toyota Care 250 race on Saturday afternoon, Dawson Cram hit Joey Gase in the rear and sent Gase into the wall.  Gase took exception and after exiting the car tore the already dangling rear bumper off the car and walked onto the racing surface to throw the bumper at Cram’s passing car.  Gase made contact with Cram’s car, hitting the windshield.

NASCAR has cited Gase with violation of Sections 8.8.8K of the NASCAR Rule Book – “A safety violation may be imposed for any action or omission by a Competitor or vehicle that creates an unsafe environment or poses a threat to the safety of the Competitors, as determined by NASCAR.”

NASCAR has fined Joey Gase $5,000 for the infraction.
