Five new shows joined the already 27 productions on Broadway this past week and the box office receipts are the best since New Year’s as “The Great White Way” launches into spring just weeks before the annual Tony Award nominations are announced.  Theater goers spent $37 million last week watching any of 32 productions.

Three of the top five productions topped the $2 million mark with one of them topping $3 million!

When it comes to attendance, only two of the shows failed to reach the 90 percent capacity with 17 of them at 100 percent and six of those topped 100 percent.
