Thanks to some school holidays, Broadway saw a jump again this week with the 25 productions currently running bringing in $28 million las week to get a jump on the spring season (it is now officially spring in the northern hemisphere of the planet Earth).

“The Lion King”, “MJ The Musical”, and “Wicked” saw the biggest jump in the past week.  “The Lion King” once again topped the $2 million mark at the box office.  “Wicked” also topped the $2 million mark last week as fans continue to flock to the show and the new cast members.  “Hamilton” and “Merrily We Roll Along” finished out the top five.

Currently in previews, “The Outsiders” gave on one performance last week and packed the house!

Also in previews and heavily comped press passes, “An Enemy of the People” just missed the Million Dollar Club last week.

With 21 of the 25 shows in the 90 percent club last week, Broadway saw a total audience capacity of 93.62 percent with six productions topping the 100 percent capacity mark.  Nearly 220,000 theater fans saw a Broadway show last week.
