The Xfinity Series kicks off a doubleheader weekend with the Call 811.com Every Dig. Every Time 200 at Phoenix Raceway.  The Truck Series has the weekend off.

There are 39 teams to fill 38 spots with William Byron and John Hunter Nemechek are the only Cup Series driver in the field this week.  Actor/driver Frankie Muniz also returns with a hope of running the race at his home track.

A rain storm passed through Phoenix on Friday night; washing away all the rubber laid down on the track by Cup Series practice and ARCA events.  And there is no traction compound on the track.

The drivers get a 20 minute practice session before making a qualifying run for the race later today.

After the wild winds last week in Las Vegas, the crews welcome the calm winds in Phoenix.

Early on in practice, Patrick Emerling gets loose and slides sideways around the track to bring out the caution flag.

Several of the drivers are reporting brake shake issues.

The first driver on the track to make a qualifying run is William Byron with a time of 28.321 seconds around the one mile track.

JR Motorsports driver Sam Mayer just missed the 27 second mark with a time of 28,003 seconds around the track.

 Ryan Vargas and Garrett Smithley did not make a qualifying run with brake issues.

Parker Retzlaff is the first driver to break the 28 second mark with a time of 27.956 seconds.

After having some issue getting the car fired, Corey Heim put down the best lap of the day so far with a time of 27.507 seconds.

John Hunter Nemechek was the fastest driver after practice but it is Cole Custer with a time of 27.380 seconds who will sit on the pole with Chandler Smith starting alongside on the front row.  This is his second career pole at Phoenix.

Joey Logano and Daniel Suarez join Jamie Little in the FOX Sports broadcast booth for today’s race.

Stages one and two of the race are 45 laps each with stage three lasting 110laps for a total of 200 laps around the one mile track.  The drivers can run 85 to 90 laps on a single load of fuel.

Sheldon Creed’s crew found an oil leak in the car and he will have to start the race from the back of the field.  Leland Honeyman will also have to start the race from the back of the field.

The crews have only three sets of tires in their pits.

Cole Custer brings the field down for the green flag start of the race with Chandler Smith alongside.  Drivers immediately get three and four wide across the track.

On lap two the drivers have already started beating and banging on each other.

Lap three, Chandler Smith leads the race with Cole Custer in second; Corey Heim, Riley Herbst, and Justin Allgaier round out the top five.

The first caution flag comes out on lap six for a crash involving Dawson Cram, Patrick Emerling, and Josh Williams. Jeremy Clements makes contact with Josh Williams to start the crash.

Sheldon Creed has moved up nine spots since the start of the race.

Chandler Smith brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 12 with Cole Custer alongside.  Drivers quickly spread out with Chandler Smith holding on to the lead.

Lap 13, Chandler Smith has led every lap so far; Cole Custer, Corey Heim, Riley Herbst, and Justin Allgaier round out the top five.  Justin Allgaier and Riley Herbst battle for fourth.

Patrick Emerling is out of the race.

Lap 17, Chandler Smith has a lead of over a second on Cole Custer; Corey Heim, Justin Allgaier, and Riley Herbst round out the top five.

Ryan Vargas is on pit road and Josh Williams is two laps down.

Since the race start, William Byron has moved up 14 spots.

Lap 24, leader Chandler Smith has pulled out to a two second lead.  Cole Custer and Justin Allgaier battle for second.

Lap 27, Chandler Smith has a lead of over two seconds on Cole Custer; Justin Allgaier, Aric Almirola, and Corey Heim round out the top five.

After starting the race back in the field, William Byron has moved up to just outside the top 10 in eleventh place.  ]There are 33 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 36, leading every lap, Chandler Smith has a two and a half second lead on Cole Custer; Justin Allgaier, Aric Almirola, and Riley Herbst round out the top five.

Cole Custer brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two on lap 55 with Justin Allgaier alongside.  Custer jumps out in front from the inside lane as the drivers get spread out across the track.  Chandler smith moves up to second.

Lap 56, the top five are Cole Custer, Chandler, Justin Allgaier, Riley Herbst, and Aric Almirola.

There are 29 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 60 Justin Allgaier and Chandler Smith battle for second with Cole custer nearly half a second out in front.

Hoping to run every lap, Frankie Muniz is currently two laps down.

Lap 65 Cole Custer has a narrow lead on Chandler Smith; Justin Allgaier, Aric Almirola, and John Hunter Nemechek round out the top five.

Lap 72, Justin Allgaier passes Chandler Smith for second; Cole Custer has a lead of over half a second.

Lap 78,Corey Heim has fallen back in the field and brings his car down pit road with some issue in the car. The right rear tires was wobbling badly.

Lap 80, Cole Custer continues to lead the race with Justin Allgaier in second; Aric Almirola, Chandler Smith, and Riley Herbst round out the top five.

Lap 107, Chandler Smith has closed up on leader Cole Custer’s bumper.

Lap 110, Chandler Smith passes Cole Custer for the lead.

Riley Herbst gives Justin Allgaier a bit push top pass Cole Custer for second.

The top five are Chandler Smith, Justin Allgaier, Riley Herbst, Aric Almirola, and Cole Custer.

Cole Custer reports that he is very loose.

Lap 120, Chandler Smith has pulled out to al lead of over a second on Justin Allgaier; Riley Herbst, Aric Almirola, and John Hunter Nemechek rounding out the top five.

There are 29 cars on the lead lap with two cars out of the race.

Reports are that AJ Allmendinger is having engine issues.

Lap 124, Chandler Smith now has a two second lead on Justin Allgaier; Riley Herbst, Aric Almirola, and John Hunter Nemechek round out the top five.

Lap 131, Chandler Smith holds a lead of over two seconds on Justin Allgaier.  The drivers cannot make it to the end of the race without making a pit stop for fuel and that one last set of sticker tires.

Lap 137, the caution flag comes out when Hailie Deegan gets loose up by the wall.

Drivers come down pit road for service with John Hunter Nemechek winning the race off of pit road; Justin Allgaier comes out second.

After another slow stop, Chandler Smith gets on the radio and asks the crew if he is doing something to mess them up; the crew responds no, we are messing ourselves up.

John Hunter Nemechek brings the field down for the green flag restart with 57 laps remaining in the race.  Justin Allgaier edges out to take the lead from the inside lane.

The caution flag comes out for a big wreck involving several cars after Riley Herst, Chandler Smith, and John Hunter Nemechek make contact.  John Hunter Nemechek, Sam Mayer, Hailie Deegan, Austin Hill, Jeb Burton, Parker Retzlaff, Ryan Ellis, Brennan Poole, Chandler Smith, William Byron, Brandon Jones, Aric Almirola, and Riley Herbst were all involved.

Parker Kligerman did an incredible job of avoiding the crash, weaving in and around the cars.

NASCAR has displayed the red flag in order to get the track cleared and cleaned up.

Sam Mayer has been checked and released from the infield care center.

Jeb Burton and Parker Retzlaff have been checked and released from the care center.

The red flag has been withdrawn and the yellow is displayed; the cars are moving once again.

John Hunter Nemechek has been checked and released from the care center.

Justin Allgaier brings the field down for the green flag restart with 49 laps remaining in the race.  Chandler Smith is alongside on the outside lane.  Allgaier gets out in front for the lead with Chandler Smith in second; Sheldon Creed, Cole Custer, and Parker Kligerman round out the top five.

Just 27 laps to go, Justin Allgaier has pulled out to a two second lead on Chandler Smith; Sheldon Creed, Jesse Love, and Cole Custer round out the top five.

Lap 178, Justin Allgaier has increased his lead to over two seconds on Chandler Smith.

Frankie Muniz is off the track.

Twenty to go, Justin Allgaier’s lead is now two and a half seconds on Chandler Smith.

With just 16 laps to go, there are 19 cars on the lead lap.

Shane van Gisbergen is just outside of the top 10 in eleventh place.

Fourteen to go, Justin Allgaier continues to expand his lead and is now over two and a half seconds out in front of Chandler Smith; Sheldon Creed, Jesse Love, and Cole Custer round out the top five.

Frankie Muniz is out of the race.

Justin Allgaier has been lapping cars and there is now just 16 cars on the lead lap with 10 laps remaining in the race.

Jesse Love and Sheldon Creed battle for third.

Seven to go, Justin Allgaier has a lead of over two and a half seconds.

There are now just 14 cars on the lead lap.

Five to go, and Justin Allgaier has a three second lead when he blows a tire and gets into the wall hard to bring out the caution flag.

Chandler Smith is the new leader.

The race goes into overtime!
