The Xfinity Series drivers get out on the track for a 20 minute practice session before making their qualifying runs.
There are 38 teams at Las Vegas this weekend for 38 starting spots including Aric Almirola, John Hunter Nemechek, and Shane van Gisbergen.
The wind continues to be an issue for the drivers with 23mph sustained winds and 50mph gusts.
Aric Almirola, Jeb Burton, and Shane van Gisbergen’s cars are all having issues getting through the inspection process.
Sofar this season in the two races that have already run, Jesse Love has won the pole both times with Ausitn Hill winning both races. Will it continue or will there be different drivers at the top???
While many of the drivers and crew members are concerned about the wind; Cole Custer has a different view of the matter; saying, “well, there’s nothing I can do about it.”
Anthony Alfredo blows a tire and gets into the wall during practice and does some damage to his car. Alfredo reports that something big broke.
Brandon Jones tops the leaderboard after practice; all four of the JRM cars are in the top 10 after practice.
Kyle Sieg is the first driver on the track to make a qualifying run and posts a time of 31.155.
Joey Gase’s qualifying time has been disallowed after the crew failed to properly prepare the car. He will still be able to run in the race, just from the back of the field.
Justin Allgaier had a flat tire during his qualifying run but saved the car.
Cole Custer is the first driver to break the 30 second mark with a time of 29.788c seconds.
After crashing during practice, Anthony Alfredo did not make a qualifying run.
With a time of 29.788 seconds, Cole Custer puts his double zero car on the pole; Chandler Smith will start alongside on the front row.

Stages one and two of the race are 45 laps each with stage three lasting 110 laps for a total of 200 laps around the mile and a half track. The drivers can run 60 to 65 laps on a single load of fuel.

Lap eight, Parker Retzlaff brings out the first caution flag of the race after some on track contact from Sam Mayer. Mayer has taken his car to the garage.
After starting the race on pit road, Sage Karam’s car is pushed to the garage.
Due to the heavy winds, some of the cameras cannot be used due to safety issues.

Lap 26, John Hunter Nemechek passes Austin Hill for third.
Lap 28, Chandler Smith has pulled out to a lead of over two seconds on Cole Custer. Ryan Ellis got very loose but saved the car and the track stays green.
Lap 30, Shane van Gisbergen is on pit road with the hood up after reporting a rise in engine temperatures.
Justin Allgaier is up to eighth.
The crew pushes Shane van Gisbergen’s car to the garage. According to NASCAR rules, teams may take their cars to the garage for mechanical repairs and make a return to the track. If a driver takes his car to the garage after a crash, then he is out of the race.
