Throughout his long musical career, Sir Paul McCartney has had numerous anniversaries and celebrations. His latest such event is the 50th anniversary of his Wings album “Band on the Run”.
It has been 50 years since Wings released “Band on the Run” and on February 2, Sir Paul is releasing an anniversary edition of the album. At the time of the release in December 1973, Wings was Sir Paul, wife Linda, and Denny Laine – Laine died in December.
As a part of the anniversary release is a version Sir Paul calls an “underdubbed” version of the album – a stripped down version of previously unheard mixes.
