The end of the regular NFL season brings joy for those who have survived and made it to the playoffs but for the majority of the teams who have reached the end of another season, face questions of competence and the changing of leadership.
The end of the 2023/24 NFL regular season was just two days ago and there have already been a number of coaches fired…with more likely in the coming days.
Fired coaches:

After a loss to the Denver Broncos, the Buffalo Bills fired their Offensive Coordinator Ken Dorsey and elevated Brian Daboll to the position. The Bills have earned a spot in the playoffs and will face the Pittsburgh Steelers at home this Sunday in Super Wildcard Weekend.
After a losing season just two wins, the Carolina Panthers went on a firing spree. Head Coach Fran Reich was fired on November 27. General manager Scott Fitterer, Assistant head and running backs coach Duce Staley, and quarterbacks coach Josh McCown have also been fired.
After just missing out on the playoffs, the Jacksonville Jaguars have fired Defensive Coordinator Mike Caldwell and running backs coach Bernie Parmalee.
Winning just three games by Halloween, the Las Vegas Raiders fired Head Coach Josh McDaniels and General Manager Dave Ziegler.
After an embarrassing 63-21 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on a Thursday night game in December, the Los Angeles Chargers fired both Head Coach Brandon Staley and General Manager Tom Telesco.
With a disappointing season behind them, the New York Giants have fired the Special Teams Coordinator Thomas McGaughey and Offensive Line Coach Bobby Johnson.
After a rocky start to their season, the Pittsburgh Steelers fired Offensive Coordinator Matt Canada on November 21. The Steelers have salvaged their season and earned a spot in the playoffs as one of the Wild Card teams. They face the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo for Super Wild Card weekend.
The Tennessee Titans beat the Jacksonville Jaguars to keep the Jaguars out of the playoffs, but with a losing season, the Titans also were through for the season. On January 9, the Titans fired Head Coach Mike Vrabel.
With new ownership on the way in, the Washington Commanders fired Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio and Defensive Backs Coach Brent Vieselmeyer on November 24. On January 8, Had Coach Ron Rivera was also fired.
Early on in the season, the Chicago Bears Defensive Coordinator Alan Williams resigned; citing a need to step away from the game for health reasons.
While not fired by the New York Giants, Defensive Coordinator Don “Wink” Martindale resigned his position after just two season with the Giants.
With a long list of positions to fill…one that is sure to get even longer…teams are compiling a lengthy wish list of interviewees in hopes of bringing winning seasons and championships to their cities.
