The Craftsman Truck Series kicks off an action packed weekend of NASCAR and IndyCar racing as the Truck Series begins their playoffs at Indianapolis Raceway Park.
Zane Smith, Carson Hocevar, Ben Rhodes, Matt Crafton, Corey Heim, Christian Eckes, Grant Enfinger, Ty Majeski, Nick Sanchez, and Matt DiBenedetto will all be completing for the championship trophy.
A total of 39 teams brought trucks to IRP including Chicago Street Race winner and Supercar champion Shane van Gisbergen who is driving the number 41 truck for Niece Motorsports.
The drivers have been divided into two groups who will each have a 15 minute practice session before they will have single truck qualifying.
After crashing into the wall, Tyler Ankrum will have to move to a backup truck and will not make a qualifying run.
Driving the number 44 watermelon truck, Chad Chastain is the first driver on the track to make a qualifying run and posted a time of 23,884 seconds.
Rajah Caruth is the first driver to break the 23 second mark with a time of 22.967 seconds.
Matt DiBenedetto is the first of the playoff drivers to make a qualifying run and posted a time of 23.483 seconds.
With seven of the playoff drivers in the top 10, Christian Eckes put his number 19 truck on the pole with a time of 22.884 seconds for his first pole of the season.

Stages one and two are 60 laps each with stage three lasting 80 laps for a total of 200 laps around the half mile track. Drivers can run 100 to 110 laps on a single load of fuel.
Zane Smith will have to start the race from the back of the field after the crew made some unapproved adjustments to the truck – changed a flat tire.
Christian Eckes brings the field down for the green flag start of the race under a beautiful sunset from the inside lane with Ty Majeski alongside on the outside. Eckes jumps out in front for the lead with Corey Heim and Ty Majeski battling for second.
Lap two Christian Eckes leads the race with Ty Majeski in second; Corey Heim, Carson Hocevar, and Grant Enfinger round out the top five.
Lap four, in a battle for the lead Ty Majeski comes up to take the lead but Christian Eckes comes up to side by side in a battle for the lead.
Lap six, seven of the top 10 drivers are playoff drivers.
Lap eight, Ty Majeski leads the race with Corey Heim in second; Carson Hocevar, Christian Eckes, and Gran Enfinger round out the top five.

At 20 years old Carson Hocevar is the youngest playoff driver; while 47 year old Matt Crafton is the oldest.
Lap eleven, Ty Majeski has pulled out to a lead of over a second on Corey Heim; Christian Eckes, Carson Hocevar, and Grant Enfinger round out the top five. After starting the race from the back of the field, Zane Smith has entered the top 20.
The caution flag comes out on lap 14 when Greg van Last, Landen Lewis, and Hailie Deegan were all involved in a crash.
The first time ever in a truck and on an oval, Shane van Gisbergen reports that he is having a lot of fun.
Ty Majeski brings the field down for the green falg restart on lap 22 with Corey Heim alongside. Christian Eckes makes it a three wide battle for the lead with Ty Majeski and Corey Hiem going side by side. Corey Heim takes the lead.
Lap 23, the top five are Coey Heim, Ty Majeski, Christian Eckes, Carson Hocevar, and Grant Enfinger. Ane Smith has moved up to 16th.
Lap 28, Corey Heim has a narrow lead on Ty Majeski; Carson Hocevar, Christian Eckes, and Grant Enfinger round out the top five. Carson Hocevar and Christian Eckes battle back and forth for third.
Greg van Last is out of the race.
Lap 30 Ty Majeski and Corey Heim battle for the lead with the drivers swapping the lead back and forth.
Lap 34, Corey Heim has the lead with Ty Majeski in second; Christian Eckes, Carson Hocevar, and Grant Enfinger continue to round out the top five.
Lap 38, the battle for the lead continues between Corey Heim and Ty Majeski. Zane Smith is is just outside the top 10 in eleventh.
Lap 40, Ty Majeski puts a slide job on Corey Heim to take the lead.
Lap 42, there are 32 cars on the lead lap.
Lap 43, Ty Majeski has pulled out to a lead of over a second on Corey Heim; Christian Eckes, Carson Hocevar, and Grant Enfinger round out the top five.
Lap 47, Jake Garcia got loose and gets into Grant Enfinger but the track stays green.
Lap 48, Ty Majeski has a lead of over a second and a half on Corey Heim.
Lap 56, With a lead of over three seconds, Ty Majeski gets into the back of Daniel Dye but the track stays green.
Lap 58, Ty Majeski has a lead of over three and a half seconds on Corey Heim; Christian Eckes, Layne Riggs, and Jake Garcia round out the top five. Shane van Gisbergen has entered the top 10.
