As every racing fan knows, racing is a team sport.  The driver is out in front and most familiar to the fans but without his pit crew and all the staff members, the driver would not be successful.

Drivers can pass fellow drivers on the track…sometimes with ease; but they also say that the best place to gain spots is on pit road and a fast pit crew.

The wheels on the Next Gen cars with a single wheel hub have helped to cut down pit stops by several seconds since the tire changers no longer need to replace five lug nuts during a pit stop.

Last week at New Hampshire saw several pit road incidents that caused slow pit stops and several spots for the driver on the track.

Martin Truex Jr dominated the race at Loudon but he also got some help from his pit crew who quickly serviced the car and got Truex back on the track.

With the 2023 racing season over half over and just six races remaining in the regular season, the fastest pit stops of the season were all under 10 seconds.  See which teams topped the list for pit stops this season…
