Weather conditions are iffy for today’s race with some very overcast skies; however, the drivers can race if there is no lightning or heavy rains.  Even before the pre-race ceremonies begin, the event is in a lighning delay.  And the heavy rains are coming down.

With the Truck Series racing in a stand alone event, the pit stops will be non-competitive stops where the field is frozen and crews will have three minutes at the end of each stage to service the cars and return to the track in their same running order.  Crews may change all four tires and fuel the trucks; just not at the same time.

At 1:59pm edt, NASCAR has called the drivers to their trucks and pre-race ceremonies are set to begin.

Armed with the wet weather package – wet weather treaded tires, windshield wiper, defogger inside the car, rain flaps, and a red visibility light – the drivers get moving on the track.

After qualifying in the top 10, Zane Smith’s transmission broke and will have to start the race from the back of the field.  Matt DiBenedetto, Jake Garcia, and Conor Daly will also have to start the race from the back of the field after crews made unapproved adjustments to the trucks.
