Country music newcomer Jelly Roll has notched his place in musical history by becoming the first artist to have a song on the Mainstream Rock and Country Airplay charts at the same time…and in the top 10…with his song “Need a Favor”.

The 17.5 million plays during the week of June 9 to 15, moved the song up four spots from 12th to ninth on the Country chart and sits at number three on the rock chart.

Last year Jelly Roll joined Bon Jovi, Bradley Gilbert, the Zac Brown Band, Kid Rock, the Dave Matthews Band, Sting, and Travis Tritt as the only artists who have had a top 10 hit on both the Rock and Country Airplay charts at the same time; albeit all with a different song in each chart.  Hardy has recently added his name to the list.  Jelly Roll is the first to have the same song on both charts.

To further mark his place in musical history, Jelly Roll joins Bon Jovi, Brantley Gilbert, and the Zac Brown Band as the only artist to have songs reach number one in both the Country and Rock Airplay charts.

Kid Rock joins Kid Rock in having a top 20 hit in both charts.

And if that isn’t enough…

Jelly Roll’s “Need a Favor” is in the top 10 – number six – on the Rock and Alternative Airplay chart.  “Need a Favor” is also in the top five of the Hot Rock and Alternative and Hot Country Songs charts after have over eleven million streams and 7,000 downloads last week.

“Need a Favor” is the first single form Jelly Roll’s hit album “Whitsitt Chapel” which debuted at number one on the Top Rock and Alternative Albums and number two on the Top Country Albums charts.

The latest music charts will be listed at Billboard.com beginning June 21.
