This weekend the Craftsman Truck Series travels west to the home of the St Louis Arch and World Wide Technology Raceway for the Toyota 200.
The big news as the drivers get ready to take to the track for practice is that points leader Corey Heim is ill and will not make the race this weekend. Originally set to drive the number one truck on Saturday, Jesse Love will make his Truck Series debut in the number eleven truck for Corey Heim.
With the number one without a driver, Toni Breidinger will make her second Truck Series race taking over the number one truck.
Summer has arrived in the mid-west with temperatures over 90 degrees and track temperatures at 128 degrees when the drivers take the track for a 20 minute practice session and qualifying. Temperatures inside the trucks are well over 100 degrees.
During practice Chris Hacker’s truck started smoking with a possible oil line issue.
Only 35 teams brought trucks to St. Louis; with all of the trucks running in the race with drivers from 17 to 71.
The first driver on the track to make a qualifying run is Clay Greenfield who posted a time of 35.386 seconds around the one mile track.
Rajah Caruth does not make a qualifying run due to engine issues.
After failing tech inspection three times Matt Crafton will not be allowed to make a qualifying run; he will also lose a crew member for the weekend, not be allowed to make a pit road selection, and will have to make a pass through penalty upon race start.
With nearly a third of the field breaking the 33 second mark in qualifying, Ty Majeski puts his number 98 truck on the pole with a time of 32.569 seconds for his first pole of the season; teammate Ben Rhodes will start alongside on the front row.

This is also the second race of the Triple Truck Challenge with Ben Rhodes winning the first race in the challenge. If Rhodes wins again his $50,000 will go to $150,000; if a different driver wins, he will get a $50,000 prize.
Stages one and two of the race are only 35 laps each with stage three lasting 90 laps for a total of 160 laps around the mile and a quarter track. The drivers can run 70 to 80 laps on a single load of fuel.
After qualifying fourth, Carson Hocevar will have to start the race from the back of the field after the crew made some unapproved adjustments to the truck – fuel pump issue. Josh Reaume will also have to start the race from the back of the field aftere unapproved adjustments.
There are just five races remaining until the playoffs for the Truck Series drivers. Of the eleven races run so far, there has been nine different winners. In the Truck Series, only 10 drivers go to the playoffs.
On a hot Saturday afternoon, Ty Majeski brings the field down for the green falg start of the race with Ben Rhodes alongside with the teammates going side by side before Ty Majeski gets out in front for the lead.
The first caution flag of the race comes out on lap one when Clay Greenfield gets into the wall hard and Bret Holmes is stopped on the track with no power.
Rajah Caruth also has some damage to his truck after having to start from the back of the field after not making a qualifying run with an engine issue.
Carson Hocevar also got some damage to his truck and the jack panel is broken which will cause some issues during pit stops.
Ty Majeski brings the field down for the green flag restart from the outside lane on lap eight and the drivers spread out three wide across the track. Ty Majeski gets out in front for the lead.
Lap eight, the top five are Ty Majeski, Christian Eckes, Ben Rhodes, Zane Smith, and Stewart Friesen.
Lap nine, Christian Eckes and Ty Majeski battle for the lead. Ben Rhodes moves up to make it a three wide battle with Majeski holding on to the lead.
Lap 12, After starting from the back of the field, Matt Crafton has entered the top 20 in 17th.
Clay Greenfield is out of the race with the remainder of the field on the lead lap.
Lap 14, Ty Majeski has a lead of nearly a second and a half on Ben Rhodes; Christian Eckes, Zane Smith, and Stewart Friesen round out the top five.
Christian Eckes is not feeling well at all; he has been battling a cold all week long.
Lap 20, Ty Majeski has led every lap so far. He has now led more laps than he has all season. Ben Rhodes, Christian Eckes, Zane Smith, and Stewart Friesen round out the top five. Norm Benning is the only truck not on the lead lap.
Lap 22, Dean Thompson brings his truck down pit road for an unscheduled pit stop. The crew lifts the hood on pit road. Thompson reports that he has lost all oil pressure.
Lap 23, Ty Majeski has a two second lead on Ben Rhodes; Christian Eckes, Zane Smith, and Stewart Friesen round out the top five.
Lap 25, Matt Crafton has entered the top 15 and Carson Hocevar has entered the top 20.
Lap 27, Christian Eckes is reporting brake issues.
Lap 28, Ty Majeski is running away from the field; he now has a lead of four seconds on Ben Rhodes.
Lap 29, Stephen Mallozzi is stopped on the track and reports that “everything is dead” and brings out the caution flag.
With just three laps remaining in stage one, most of the field comes down pit road for service in a “quickie yellow” – all drivers can come down together (lead lap and laps down). Ty Majeski wins the race off of pit road.
Drivers come down pit road for a one lap green flag shootout to end stage one. After staying out on the track, Grant Enfinger brings the field down for the green flag restart with Matt DiBenedetto alongside. Drivers immediately get three wide across the track with Grant Enfinger taking the lead.

Lap 44, Zane Smith, Ty Majeski, and Christian Eckes battle for the lead with Zane Smith getting out in front.
Lap 45, the top five are Zane Smith, Ty Majeski, Christian Eckes, Ben Rhodes, and Stewart Friesen.
Lap 47, Ty Majeski retakes the lead with Zane Smith in second; Christian Eckes, Ben Rhodes, and Stewart Friesen round out the top five.
Jesse Love’s truck had an issue with the radiator fan; which has been repaired.
Lap 49, drivers are in battles all through the field.
Lap 50, Ty Majeski has a half second lead on Zane Smith; Christian Eckes, Ben Rhodes, and Stewart Friesen round out the top five.
Lap 56, the caution flag comes out when Jack Wood gets into the wall after some on track contact from Chris Hacker.
Stephen Mallozzi returns to the track 13 laps down.
With 102 laps remaining in the race, several of the drivers come down pit road for service; they can make it to the end of the race on just one more stop.
Ty Majeski brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 62 with Christian Eckes alongside. Majeski gets out in front for a narrow lead but Eckes comes up to battle for the lead and Stewart Friesen comes up on the inside to take the lead.
Lap 63, the top five are Stewart Friesen, Ty Majeski, Nick Sanchez, Ben Rhodes, and Christian Eceks.
Rajah Caruth gets very loose but manages to save the truck and keep it off of the wall.
Just five laps remain in stage two, Stewart Friesen leads the race with Ty Majeski just a quarter of a second back.
Conner Jones brings out the caution flag when he spins out and gets into the wall.

After staying out on the track, Grant Enfinger brings the field down for the green flag start of stage three with Daniel Dye alongside. Enfinger gets out in front for the lead with Tyler Ankrum in second; Daniel Dye, Matt DiBenedetto, and Zane Smith round out the top five.
Drivers are three and four wide across the track in a bettle for position.

Halfway, lap 80, Grant Enfinger has a lead of nearly a second on Daniel Dye. Taylor Gray spins out and brings out the caution flag but keeps the truck off of the wall.

Hailie Deegan brings out the caution flag on lap 88 when she hits the wall hard after a bit of contact from Nick Sanchez. Deegan walks away from the wreck for her trip to the infield care center.
Rolling the dice, Zane Smith gave up the lead to make his pit stop. He is on the edge of his pit window but all of the drivers have to make another pit stop.
Grant Enfinger brings the field down for the green flag restart with 67 laps remaining in the race. Enfinger and Daniel Dye battle for the lead with Enfinger finally getting out in front.

After numerous pit road issues because of a broken jack post, Carson Hocevar has entered the top five after passing Jake Garcia.
Lap 108, Grant Enfinger has a two and a half second lead on Daniel Dye; Ty Majeski, Matt DiBenedetto and Carson Hocevar round out the top five.
There are 28 trucks on the lead lap.
With 48 laps remaining in the race, Zane Smith has moved up to 15th after making a pit stop during the last caution lfag.
Lap 117, Grant Enfinger continues to lead the race with Daniel Dye in second; Ty Majeski, Matt DiBenedetto, and Carson Hocevar round out the top five as the leaders have encountered slower traffic.
Lap 120, drivers are beginning to make their green flag pit stops with Tyler Ankrum coming down pit road.
There are 22 trucks on the lead lap.
Lap 121, Grant Enfinger has a lead nearly three and a half seconds on Ty Majeski; Daniel Dye, Matt DiBenedetto, and Carson Hocevar round out the top five.
With 36 laps to go, Grant Enfinger has led 54 laps today – the most of the race.
Chris Hacker spins out with 35 laps remaining in the race to bring out the eighth caution flag of the race when he spins out after some contact from Josh Reaume, but kept it off the wall. Hacker cannot get the truck restarted and needs a push to get moving again.
