In recent years the rage of Broadway has been to create musicals based on or featuring the music of a single artist.
Just in time for Pride season, Tom Gustafson and Cory Krueckeberg have created “Glitter + Doom” featuring the music of the Indigo Girls.
Featuring an international…and queer…cast, “Glitter + Doom” tells the story of a summer fling that later must come to terms with reality.
With Alex Diaz as Glitter and Alan Cammish as Doom; Ming-Na Wen, Missi Pyle, Lea DeLaria, Tig Notaro, Kate Pierson of the B-52s, Broadway veteran Peppermint, Broadway veteran Beth Malone, and the Indigo Girls themselves; “The Voice” alum produces the 116 minute feature.
The film is set to premiere on June 3 – the final night of Inside Out in Toronto with the cast and crew in attendance.
“Glitter + Doom” will also appear on June 22 at Frameline in San Francisco with Tom Gustafson and Cory Krueckeberg in attendance.
