While some other awards presentations have had to make some changes or have outright cancelled the shows due to the Writer’s Guild strike, the annual Tony Awards will go on as planned June 11.
This year the musical “Some Like it Hot” lead the way with the most nominations with 13. “Shucked”, “& Juliet”, “New York, New York”, “Fat Ham”, Leopoldstadt”, “A Doll’s House”, “Life of Pi”, “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street”, and “Kimberly Akimbo” all earned multiple nominations. Despite closing after only 17 performances, “KPOP” earned three nominations.
