In a separate penalty event, NASCAR has found that four Craftsman Truck Series teams have violated the NASCAR Wrong look when it comes to the safety of the drivers and the window net.

According to the NASCAR rule, book section 14.2.3.3.1 B & C, the window net must meet the SFI 27.1 specifications and display the label stating such. The window net must not be used for more than two years past the original date of manufacture.

At the race at Darlington last weekend the G2G Racing truck, number 46 driven by Brennan Poole and the G2G Racing number 47 driven by Dawson Cram failed to meet the rulebook standards for the window net.

As a result, crew chiefs, Timothy, Sylvia and Daniel Gillies have been fined $5,000 each and the teams has been docked 25 owner and 25 driver points each.

Tim Viens of G2G Racing Has issued a statement saying the team will appeal the penalties feeling that they did not violate the NASCAR rulebook.

At the race in Kansas two weeks ago the Young Motorsports trucks number 12 driven by Spencer Boyd and the number 20 driven by Nick Leitz We’re charged with the exact same window net violations.   Few chiefs Bradley Means and Joseph Lax have also been fined $5,000 each and the teams have been docked 25 owner and 25 driver points each.

Window nets are required on all trucks and cars during racing operations for safety reasons to help keep drivers head, arms and upper body in the car in case of a crash.
