While there are numerous artists who write their own songs, there are just as many who depend of the professional songwriters to provide them with hit songs.

One such songwriter is Radney Foster who is among the newest members of the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame.  Foster joins Alejandro Escovedo, Rodney Clawson, W.C. Clark, Ronnie Dunn, LeeRoyParnell, David Lee, and Gary P. Nunn as the 2023 Class of Hall of Famers.

In a video message, Darius Rucker call Foster, “no one deserves this more. Radney is one of the greatest songwriters of all time.”

Keith Urban added, “Radney is the real deal.”

Number one hit songs penned by Radney Foster include music from Keith Urban, The Chicks, Hootie and the Blowfish, and Jack Ingram.

Other members of the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame include Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Billy Joe Shaver, Rodney Crowell, “Lightnin” Hopkins, Joe Ely, Townes Van Zandt, Lefty Frizzell, Clint Black, Robert Earl Keen, Liz Rose, Aaron Barker, and Freddy Powers.

A performer as well as a songwriter, Foster is currently on tour with several dates around Texas and a few shows already sold out.
