Kenny Rogers died in 2020, but the music never dies.  And in June Ume with the help of Rogers’ widow Wanda there will be some new music from Kenny Rogers.

Wanda Rogers spoke on Kenny via a press release saying, “he would often say that he wanted his songs to be ‘what every man wants to say, and every woman wants to hear.  I think there are a lot of those moments on this album. This is a very special record to me and our family because it really tells the story of our life together, and I feel his fans will also relate to it in a big way because it walks the listener through the seasons of life that we all experience in one way or another.”

“Life is a Song” is set for a June 2 release that will feature previously unreleased songs.  The duet with Dolly Parton “ Tell Me that You Love Me” and “Goodbye” have been previously released but never in a digital format.  Rogers recorded the songs between 2008 and 2011 and includes both original and cover songs.

The Grammy Award and Country Music Hall of Famer started out as a member of the First Edition and became a regular on the variety series “Hee Haw” before branching out into films and a hit solo career.  Rogers was a part of the entertainment world for over 60 years at the time of his death.
